Early Life and Career
Ronald Rummell Coleman, also known as OG Ron C, started his DJ journey in high school. He played music at parties in his neighborhood in 5th Ward, Houston. When he was in 12th grade, he joined the street team for a radio station called Majic 102.
After high school, Ron C went to Wiley College to study communication. He worked at the college's radio station, KBWC. Later, he got an internship at a big radio station in Houston, 97.9 The Box. In 1994, he got a paid job at KBXX 97.9 FM.
Starting Swishahouse Records
In 1994, Ron C met Michael "5000" Watts, another DJ at the radio station. They noticed that a new style of rap music, created by DJ Screw, was becoming very popular. This style was called "Chopped and Screwed."
Ron C and Watts decided to create their own "Chopped and Screwed" mixtapes. In 1995, they started their own record label called Swishahouse. They held freestyle contests to find new music talent in Houston. Rappers like Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, and Paul Wall often came to these contests. If they were good, Ron C and Watts invited them to join Swishahouse.
In 1999, Ron C left radio to focus on Swishahouse. He and Mike Watts released an album called "The Day Hell Broke Loose." This album sold 100,000 copies and became a classic in Houston. Around this time, people started calling him OG Ron C. The next year, he released another album, "Southern's Finest," which sold 40,000 copies. Later, Ron C and Watts decided to go their separate ways, and OG Ron C left Swishahouse.
Working with Chamillionaire
After leaving Swishahouse, OG Ron C kept making his popular "F-ck Action Series" mixtapes. These mixtapes featured "Chopped and Screwed" R&B songs. He won two "Justo Awards" in 2004 and 2005 for being the "Best Dirty South Mixtape DJ." These awards are like the Grammys for DJs.
In 2004, OG Ron C became the official DJ for the famous rapper Chamillionaire. He played music at Chamillionaire's shows and made exclusive mixtapes for him. In 2005, he won another award for the best "Chopped and Screwed" CD. He also released two independent albums that sold over 20,000 copies each.
More Music and Collaborations
From 2006 to 2008, OG Ron C appeared on popular TV shows like 106 and Park and Rap City. He also "chopped up" (made "Chopped and Screwed" versions of) many albums and mixtapes for artists. Some of these artists include Three 6 Mafia, Master P, Chingy, and Pitbull. His "Chopped and Screwed" version of Chamillionaire's "Sound Of Revenge" album sold more copies than any other "Chopped and Screwed" CD from a major record label. OG Ron C was also featured in many music magazines like XXL and The Source.

Later, he added DJ Candlestick in 2008 and DJ Hollygrove and DJ Chose in 2009. DJ Chose is also a member of the group Brook Gang Music, which OG Ron C manages. In 2009, he teamed up again with Michael '5000' Watts to release a popular mixtape called "The Return Of The Realest." He continues to release new music through his website.
