Oberramsern was once a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Bucheggberg district, which is part of the canton of Solothurn.
On January 1, 2010, Oberramsern joined with two other towns, Balm bei Messen and Brunnenthal. They all became part of the larger town of Messen.

History of Oberramsern
Oberramsern was first written about in 1276. Back then, it was called Rambsern. Later, in 1318, it was mentioned as Ramserron superiori. This shows that the town has a long history!
Where is Oberramsern?
Oberramsern covers an area of about 1.75 square kilometers (0.68 square miles). That's roughly the size of 346 football fields!
Most of the land, about 67%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 28% of the area. The rest, about 4%, has buildings and roads. There are also small rivers or lakes.
The town is in the Limpach valley. It sits on the southern side of the Bucheggberg hills. Oberramsern is a linear village, meaning its buildings are spread out along a road.
