He started playing soccer when he was very young in a nearby town called Évreux. He played for local youth clubs until he was 13 years old. This is where he first learned the skills that would make him a star.
Club Career
A player's club career is the time they spend playing for different professional teams. Dembélé has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Rennes
Dembélé joined the youth academy of Rennes and quickly showed his talent. He first played for the club's reserve team, where he scored 13 goals in his first season.
In November 2015, he made his debut for the main team in Ligue 1, France's top soccer league. He amazed everyone by scoring 12 goals in his first season. This included his first hat-trick (three goals in one game) against the team Nantes. His amazing skills at such a young age caught the attention of bigger clubs.
Borussia Dortmund

In 2016, Dembélé moved to Germany to play for Borussia Dortmund. He continued to impress with his speed and assists. In his only season with the club, he helped them win the DFB-Pokal, which is Germany's main cup competition.
He even scored the first goal in the final match against Eintracht Frankfurt, helping his team win 2–1. He was named the best new player, or "Rookie of the Season," in the German league.
Barcelona

In August 2017, Dembélé made a huge move to one of the world's biggest clubs, Barcelona in Spain. The transfer fee was very high, making him one of the most expensive players ever at the time. He was given the number 11 jersey, which was previously worn by the famous player Neymar.
His time at Barcelona had some challenges. He suffered a few serious injuries that kept him from playing for long periods. Despite the setbacks, he showed flashes of his amazing talent. He scored important goals, including a fantastic solo goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.
Over his years at Barcelona, Dembélé helped the team win several trophies. He won the Spanish league, La Liga, three times and the Spanish cup, Copa del Rey, twice. By the 2021–22 season, he became the top assist provider in La Liga, showing he was great at creating goals for his teammates.
Paris Saint-Germain

He scored two hat-tricks in a row, a rare achievement for any player. His amazing performances helped PSG win a continental treble. This means they won their domestic league, their domestic cup, and the UEFA Champions League all in the same season.
He finished the season as the top scorer in Ligue 1 and was named the league's Player of the Year. His greatest achievement came when he won the 2025 Ballon d'Or, the award for the best soccer player in the world.
The 2025–26 Season

Style of Play
Dembélé is a winger, which means he usually plays on the sides of the field. What makes him special is that he is ambidextrous, meaning he can use both his left and right feet equally well. This makes him very unpredictable for defenders.
He is famous for his incredible speed, agility, and amazing dribbling skills. He can run past defenders with ease and create scoring chances for himself or his teammates. He can also score powerful goals from far away. Many people, including his former teammate Andrés Iniesta, have praised him for his ability to change a game with his talent.
