About Philippe Quintais
Philippe Quintais started playing pétanque when he was 12 years old, learning from his parents. He quickly became known as one of the best "shooters" of his time. In pétanque, a shooter is a player who tries to knock away the opponent's balls.
He has won many awards at the international level. He earned four gold medals in "Precision Shooting" at the World Championships in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003. He also won eight gold medals and four bronze medals in the "Triple World Championship." A "Triple" team has three players.
Philippe also helped other players succeed. He coached the French teams that won the World Championships in 2007 and 2008.
The "Dream Team"
Philippe Quintais, along with his teammates Philippe Suchaud and Henry Lacroix, became known as the "Dream Team" in the world of pétanque. They are famous for winning many championships in France and around the world. With the help of a fourth player, Eric Sirot, they won three World Championships in a row in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
Philippe has played for several pétanque clubs during his career. These include clubs in Hanches, Star Master's, Duc de Nice, and more recently, Dreux. Since 2009, he has also been a sports ambassador for the city of Dreux.
