Pizy was a small municipality (like a town or village) in Switzerland. It was located in the canton of Vaud, which is like a state. Pizy was part of the Morges area. On July 1, 2011, Pizy joined with a nearby town called Aubonne.

Pizy is first mentioned in old records from 1188. This means the area has a long history, going back over 800 years!
Geography and Location
Pizy covered an area of about 2.51 square kilometers (about 1 square mile). Most of this land, about 65%, was used for farming. Forests covered about 27% of the area. The rest of the land was used for buildings, roads, and a small amount of rivers.
Pizy used to be in the Aubonne District. However, on August 31, 2006, it became part of the new Morges District. The municipality of Pizy was made up of scattered houses located between the towns of Aubonne and Gimel.
Pizy's Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for Pizy has a special design. It shows two silver columns on two green hills, all on a blue background. There are also three golden scallop shells placed vertically. A "blazon" is the official description of a coat of arms.
Population and People
In 2003, Pizy had a population of 78 people. By 2008, about 9.3% of the people living there were foreign nationals. Over ten years (from 1999 to 2009), the population grew by about 10.8%. This growth was mostly due to more births than deaths.
Most people in Pizy (about 87.7%) spoke French in 2000. German was the second most common language (9.2%), and Italian was third (1.5%).
In 2000, about 36.9% of the people living in Pizy were born there. Another 29.2% were born in the same canton (Vaud). About 23.1% were born elsewhere in Switzerland, and 10.8% were born outside of Switzerland.
