Préverenges is a town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Vaud, which is like a state or province. Préverenges is part of the Morges district.
This town is very close to the big city of Lausanne, making it a suburb where many people live and work.

History of Préverenges
Préverenges was first written about in the year 1224. Back then, it was spelled Preverenges. This shows that the town has a long history, going back over 800 years!
Geography and Location
Préverenges is a small town, covering about 1.9 square kilometers (which is about 0.73 square miles).
A good part of the land, about 32.8%, is used for farming. About 5.4% of the area is covered by forests. Most of the town, 60.2%, is built up with buildings and roads. A very small part, 0.5%, includes rivers or lakes.
The town is located right on the edge of Lake Geneva, which is a very large and famous lake. It's also found along the main road that connects Lausanne and Geneva.
Before 2006, Préverenges was part of the old Morges District. Now, it is part of the newer, larger Morges district.
