Early Life
Prince George was born on 22 July 2013, at 4:24 PM, in St Mary's Hospital, London. He was the first child of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales. At the time, they were known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
His birth was announced to the public with a special notice at Buckingham Palace. There were celebrations across the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries. Many newspapers called him a future king. His full name, George Alexander Louis, was announced two days later.
When George was born, he was third in line to the British throne. This was a special moment because, for the first time in a long time, three generations of the royal family in direct line to the throne were alive: George, his father William, and his grandfather Charles.
George was christened (given a Christian baptism) on 23 October 2013. The ceremony was led by the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. It took place in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace.
Growing Up
George spent his first few months in Anglesey, Wales. In 2014, his family moved to Kensington Palace in London. In April of that year, he went on his first royal tour with his parents. They spent three weeks visiting New Zealand and Australia.
Even though George only appeared in public twice, the BBC said the "nine-month-old future king" was "the star of the show." The Prime Minister of Australia at the time, Tony Abbott, even said that George would one day be welcomed as King of Australia. Australian media called him "the republican slayer." This was because polls showed fewer people wanted Australia to become a republic after his visit.
In June 2015, George made his first appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. This was after the Trooping the Colour parade, a special event for the Queen's birthday. From 2015 to 2017, his family lived at Anmer Hall in Norfolk. He started nursery school there in January 2016 at West Acre Montessori School. George also met Barack and Michelle Obama in April 2016.

George started primary school in September 2017. He attended Thomas's School in Battersea, using the name George Cambridge. In 2022, his family moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park. Since September 2022, George and his younger siblings, Charlotte and Louis, have attended Lambrook. This is an independent preparatory school in Berkshire. George began flying lessons in September 2024.
George took part in his great-grandmother's Platinum Jubilee celebration in June 2022. This included the Trooping the Colour carriage procession. Queen Elizabeth II passed away on 8 September 2022. George's grandfather, Charles III, became king. George then moved up to second in line for the throne, after his father.
He served as a page of honour at his grandfather's coronation on 6 May 2023. George and his siblings sometimes join their parents on royal events, tours, and diplomatic visits.
