Geoffrey Royce Rojas (born May 11, 1989), who is known by his stage name Prince Royce, is an American singer. From a young age, Royce was interested in music. As a teenager, he started writing poetry and making his own songs. When he was nineteen, he met Andrés Hidalgo, who became his manager. Hidalgo introduced Royce to the producer Sergio George, who signed him to his record label right away.

In 2010, Royce released his first album, Prince Royce. It had two hit singles, "Stand by Me" and "Corazón Sin Cara". Both songs went to number one on the Billboard Tropical Songs chart in the United States. The album also reached number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart.

His second album, Phase II (2012), was also a number-one hit on the Latin charts. In 2015, he released Double Vision, his first album mostly in English. It featured popular artists like Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Lopez, and Pitbull. His fifth album, Five (2017), became his fourth number-one album on the Top Latin Albums chart.

Early Life and First Steps in Music

Geoffrey Royce Rojas was born and raised in The Bronx, New York. His parents are from the Dominican Republic. He is the second oldest of four children. His father was a taxi driver, and his mother worked in a beauty salon.

As a child, Royce sang in his school's choir and competed in talent shows. At age thirteen, he began writing poetry, which he later turned into songs. He said that the first time he performed for a crowd was when he sang a Christmas song in elementary school. He felt very comfortable on stage.

At fifteen, Royce started making music with a partner. At sixteen, he began using the stage name "Prince Royce." He decided to focus on making bachata music, a style from the Dominican Republic. When he was nineteen, he met his manager, Andrés Hidalgo. Hidalgo introduced him to producer Sergio George, who signed him to his label, Top Stop Music.
