Pulaski is a city in Tennessee, located in Giles County. It's the main town of the county, also known as the county seat. In 2020, about 8,397 people lived there. The city is named after Casimir Pulaski, a brave general from Poland who helped the American side during the American Revolutionary War.

History of Pulaski
Pulaski was started in 1809.
During the American Civil War, some small battles happened near Pulaski. In 1863, a Confederate messenger named Sam Davis was hanged here by the Union Army. They thought he was a spy.
After the Civil War, in 1865, the first Ku Klux Klan (KKK) group was formed in Pulaski. It was started by six soldiers who had fought for the Confederate Army.
Martin Methodist College was founded in Pulaski in 1870.
Geography and Location
Pulaski is in the middle of Giles County. Its downtown area is north of Richland Creek, a stream that flows south into the Elk River.
Roads in Pulaski
U.S. Route 31 goes through the center of Pulaski. It leads north to Columbia and southeast to Ardmore, which is near the Alabama border. Another road, U.S. Route 31 Alternate, goes northeast to Lewisburg. U.S. Route 64 passes south of Pulaski on a bypass. It goes east to Fayetteville and west to Lawrenceburg.
The city covers about 7.51 square miles (19.4 square kilometers) of land.
