Raalte (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈraːltə]) is a town and a municipality in the heart of the Salland region. It is located in the Overijssel province of the Netherlands.

Getting Around Raalte
You can travel around Raalte by train and car.
Train Travel
The Raalte railway station and Heino railway station are on the train line between Zwolle and Enschede. Trains usually run twice every hour.
Road Travel
The N348 is a key road that connects Deventer to Wesepe, Raalte, Lemelerveld, and Ommen. In Raalte, it crosses another important road, the N35. The N35 goes from Zwolle through Heino, Raalte, Mariënheem, and Nijverdal to Wierden. From Wierden, it becomes a highway (A35) that leads to Almelo and Enschede.

Festivals and Events
- Stöppelhaene: This is a Harvest Festival held every year in the last weekend of August. It has been celebrated since 1951. The main event is the Harvest Parade on Thursday.
- Ribs & Blues: This is a popular music festival that features blues music. It takes place during the Whitsun weekend. Famous bands like The Beach Boys and Status Quo have played here.
Local Sights
- Luttenberg Motorcycle Races: Luttenberg hosts exciting motorcycle races every summer.
- Lourdes Cave: In Luttenberg, you can find an artificial cave with a statue of the Virgin Mary of Lourdes. It is right across from the local church.
- Nijenhuis Castle: Southwest of Heino, there is a beautiful castle called Nijenhuis. It has an important art museum with works by famous artists like Constant Permeke and Van Gogh. The castle also has a sculpture garden with art by Ossip Zadkine.
- Luttenberg Hill: Near Luttenberg, there is a small hill covered with heath and forest. It's a great place for a walk in nature.
- Kruisverheffing Basilica: This is a large Roman Catholic church in Raalte. It was built in 1892 in the Neo-Gothic style. During the Stöppelhaene festival, you can see amazing mosaics made from seeds inside the church.
- Plaskerk: This is the oldest building in the center of Raalte and is a Protestant church. In 2006, when the Plaskerk was being repaired, Protestants were allowed to hold their Sunday services in the big Roman Catholic church. This shows the religious tolerance in the area.
