Richard Christopher Harrison (born in 1979) is an American music producer and songwriter. He is famous for creating hit songs in the R&B and hip hop styles. Rich Harrison won a special award called a Grammy Award.
He is well known for producing songs like "Get Right" for Jennifer Lopez. He also produced "1 Thing" for Amerie and "Crazy in Love" for Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Rich Harrison also started his own music company called Richcraft Entertainment. This company helped launch artists like the singer Amerie and the girl group RichGirl.

Rich Harrison's Early Life and Learning
Rich Harrison started playing music when he was very young. He learned to play the piano and the trumpet. He was so good that he could play songs he heard on the radio! Later, he went to Howard University in Washington, D.C. There, he studied history and hip-hop music.
Rich Harrison's Music Career
Rich Harrison got his first big break in music in 1999. He worked with the famous singer Mary J. Blige on a song called "Beautiful Ones." This song was part of her album Mary.
In 2001, he started his own music production company, Richcraft Inc. Right away, he wrote and produced Amerie's first album, All I Have.
Winning a Grammy Award
In 2004, Rich Harrison won a Grammy Award! This was for his work on Beyoncé's huge hit song "Crazy in Love." He was also nominated for another Grammy for his work on Usher's album Confessions.
In 2005, Rich Harrison worked with Amerie again. He produced her song "1 Thing" from her album Touch. This song became very popular because of its catchy drum beats and Amerie's unique singing style. He used a similar beat for Toni Braxton's song "Take This Ring" in 2005. Both songs use elements of go-go music, which is known for its strong, funky drumming.
The New York Times newspaper even called him "one of R&B's most exciting producers" in 2005.
