Rupert is a fun fantasy cartoon show that aired from 1991 to 1997. It's based on the classic character Rupert Bear, created by Mary Tourtel. The series has 65 episodes, each about half an hour long.

The show was made by Nelvana in Canada, working with Ellipse Programmé for the first three seasons. It also worked with YTV Canada, Inc. and UK channels like TVS Television and Scottish Television.

Meet Rupert and His World

Rupert is a very smart and clever polar bear. He has many friends from all over the world. Even though he lives in a small, old village called Nutwood, Rupert loves to travel.

He enjoys exploring new places and learning about different cultures. Rupert often goes on exciting adventures, solves mysteries, and helps catch bad guys.

The cartoon's look is inspired by Nordic and European cultures. You'll see many castles, old towns, and special clothes. Characters like elves and even the Loch Ness Monster appear, linking to European stories. The beautiful landscapes in Rupert's original books, which inspired the show, were based on areas in Snowdonia and Vale of Clwyd in northern Wales.

Who Are Rupert's Friends?

Rupert has a great group of friends and family who join him on his adventures or help him out.
