Mountains and Rivers
In the northern part of Samford Valley, you'll find mountains. These peaks can reach up to 370 meters (about 1,214 feet) high. Most of these mountainous areas are still wild and undeveloped.
The South Pine River flows through Samford Valley. It starts in Mount Nebo to the west. The river then travels east through a nearby area called Highvale. After passing through Samford Valley, it continues towards Draper in the north-east.

Most of Samford Valley is on the flatter land near the river. This area is about 50 meters (about 164 feet) above sea level. Many people here live in "rural residential" homes. This means houses are built on large pieces of land, giving families plenty of space and a country feel.

Samford Valley became its own official area in 1981.
Before that, it was just part of the larger Samford area. In 1981, the Samford area was split into two parts: Samford Village (which is the main town center) and Samford Valley. Samford Valley wraps around the village to the west, north, and east.
