Seann William Scott (born October 3, 1976) is an American actor. He is famous for playing Steve Stifler in the American Pie movies, which he starred in from 1999 to 2012. He also played the main character, Doug Glatt, in the movie Goon (2011) and its follow-up, Goon: Last of the Enforcers (2017).
Seann William Scott has been in many other popular films. These include Dude, Where's My Car? (2000), Road Trip (2000), and Final Destination (2000). He also appeared in Evolution (2001), The Rundown (2003), and The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). More recently, he was in The Wrath of Becky (2023). He also lent his voice to the character Crash in the Ice Age animated movies from 2006 to 2016.
On television, Scott was a main actor in the Fox show Lethal Weapon (2018–2019). He also starred in Welcome to Flatch (2022–2023) and the ABC sitcom Shifting Gears (2025–present). He voiced Crash again in two Ice Age TV specials: A Mammoth Christmas (2011) and The Great Egg-Scapade (2016).

Early Life and Education
Seann William Scott was born and grew up in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. His parents are Patricia Anne Simons and William Frank Scott. He is the youngest of seven children. His father passed away in 2007.
Scott went to Park High School. While there, he played on the varsity football and basketball teams. After high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin and Glendale Community College. He then decided to focus on acting and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream.

Starting Out in Hollywood
Before becoming a well-known actor, Seann William Scott worked different jobs to support himself. He worked at The Home Depot and even at the Los Angeles Zoo. He also appeared in a Aerosmith music video for their song "Hole in my Soul."
In 1996, Scott made his first TV appearance. He played a character named Moondoggie in an episode of the show Unhappily Ever After.
Becoming Famous with American Pie
Seann William Scott got his big break when he landed the role of Steve Stifler in the comedy movie American Pie (1999). He was paid $8,000 for this role, but the movie became a huge success, earning over $235 million worldwide!
He played Steve Stifler again in three more American Pie movies: American Pie 2 (2001), American Wedding (2003), and American Reunion (2012). For American Reunion, he reportedly earned $5 million plus a share of the movie's profits.
Scott won several awards for his role as Steve Stifler. He received two Teen Choice Awards for "Choice Sleazebag" for the first two American Pie films. He also won an MTV Movie Award for "Best Dance Sequence" for American Wedding. He even shared an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss with Jason Biggs for American Pie 2.
Other Movie Roles
After the American Pie series, Scott took on many different types of roles. He played Billy Hitchcock in the horror film Final Destination (2000). He also starred as Chester Greenburg in Dude, Where's My Car? (2000), which was a box office hit.
Other films he appeared in include Road Trip (2000), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), and Evolution (2001). He also played Peppers in Old School (2003). In 2003, he even co-hosted the 2003 MTV Movie Awards with Justin Timberlake.
In 2005, Scott played Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard. Even though critics didn't love the movie, it made $111 million worldwide. He was nominated for an MTV Movie Award for "Best On-Screen Team" with Jessica Simpson and Johnny Knoxville for their work in The Dukes of Hazzard.

Scott also became the voice of Crash in the Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) animated movie. He continued to voice Crash in later Ice Age films like Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) and Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012).

In 2007, he reunited with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Southland Tales. They had previously worked together in The Rundown (2003). Scott also hosted Saturday Night Live and was a guest host on Live with Regis and Kelly. He appeared in Mr. Woodcock (2007) and Trainwreck: My Life as an Idiot (2007). His movie Role Models (2008) was well-received and earned over $92 million worldwide.
In 2010, he was in the action-comedy Cop Out with Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. In 2011, he starred as Doug "The Thug" Glatt in the Canadian sports comedy Goon. This movie was praised by critics and earned $6.7 million worldwide. In 2012, he was part of the movie Movie 43. That same year, he received an honorary medal from the Philosophical Society at Trinity College. In October 2013, he guest-starred in an episode of the FX sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Recent Work in Film and TV
Scott played Ted Morgan in the comedy-drama film Just Before I Go (2015). He voiced Crash again in Ice Age: Collision Course (2016). He also returned as Doug "The Thug" Glatt in Goon: Last of the Enforcers (2017). In 2018, he had a small role in Super Troopers 2.
Scott starred as Evan in the horror film Bloodline (2018). In May 2018, he joined the Fox TV series Lethal Weapon as a new main character, Wesley Cole. The show was canceled in May 2019 after three seasons. That same year, Scott played a challenging character named Martin in the film Already Gone.
In February 2020, Scott was cast as Father Joe in the Fox comedy series Welcome to Flatch (2022–2023). This show was based on a British TV series. It ran for two seasons and ended in February 2023.
From June to July 2023, Scott appeared in commercials for DoorDash with his American Pie co-star Jason Biggs. In 2024, he appeared in the opening of the action comedy film Jackpot!.
Personal Life
Seann William Scott was engaged to fashion model Lindsay Frimodt in 2012, but they later separated in 2013.
Scott married interior designer Olivia Korenberg on September 2, 2019. They have one daughter, Frankie Rose, who was born in June 2020. The couple divorced in 2024.
