Seann William Scott (born October 3, 1976) is an American actor. He is famous for playing funny and memorable characters in movies and TV shows. His films have made a lot of money around the world.
Scott is best known for his role as Steve Stifler in the American Pie movie series, which started in 1999. He also played Doug Glatt in the sports comedy Goon (2011) and its sequel. Other popular movies he starred in include Dude, Where's My Car? (2000), Road Trip (2000), and The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). He also voiced the character Crash in the Ice Age animated films.
On television, Scott was a main actor in the series Lethal Weapon (2018–2019) and Welcome to Flatch (2022–2023). He also voiced Crash again in two Ice Age TV specials.

Early Life and Education
Seann William Scott was born in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. His parents were Patricia Anne Simons and William Frank Scott. Seann is the youngest of seven children.
He went to Park High School. There, he played on the football and basketball teams. After high school, he attended University of Wisconsin and Glendale Community College. Scott then decided to focus on acting and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream.
Acting Career
Early Roles and American Pie Success
When he first started acting, Seann William Scott worked at places like The Home Depot and the Los Angeles Zoo. This helped him earn money between acting jobs. He appeared in several TV commercials for brands like American Express and Sunny Delight. He was also in the Aerosmith music video for ‘Hole in my Soul’.
In 1996, Scott made his first TV appearance in the show Unhappily Ever After. A big moment in his career came when he got the role of Steve Stifler in the comedy movie American Pie (1999). This movie was a huge hit, earning over $235 million worldwide. Scott continued to play Steve Stifler in three more American Pie movies: American Pie 2 (2001), American Wedding (2003), and American Reunion (2012).
The American Pie films became very popular and made many of the actors famous. Scott won several awards for his role as Steve Stifler. These included two Teen Choice Awards for "Choice Sleazebag" and an MTV Movie Award for Best Dance Sequence. He even shared an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss with Jason Biggs for a funny scene in American Pie 2.

Taking on Different Characters
After the success of American Pie, Scott wanted to try different kinds of roles. He starred in Dude, Where's My Car? (2000), which became a cult classic. He also appeared in Road Trip (2000) and Evolution (2001). In 2003, he played Peppers in Old School, another movie that became very popular over time.
In 2005, Scott played Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard. This movie also did well financially. Scott was nominated for an MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Duo with Jessica Simpson and Johnny Knoxville for their roles in the film. In 2003, he co-hosted the MTV Movie Awards 2003 with Justin Timberlake.
Scott reunited with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the movie The Rundown (2003) and later in Southland Tales (2007). He also hosted Saturday Night Live and was a guest co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly. His film Role Models (2008) was a commercial success and received good reviews.

Voice Acting and Recent Work
Seann William Scott is also known for his voice acting. He voiced the character Crash, a funny opossum, in Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) and continued this role in its sequels, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) and Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012). He will voice Crash again in the upcoming Ice Age 6.
In 2010, he appeared in the action-comedy film Cop Out alongside Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. In 2011, Scott starred in the Canadian sports comedy Goon as Doug "The Thug" Glatt. This movie was praised by critics.
Scott wanted to explore more serious roles. In 2015, he played Ted Morgan in the comedy-drama film Just Before I Go. He told Variety that it was "rewarding to play pretty much the opposite of what I've done in the past." He reprised his role as Crash in Ice Age: Collision Course (2016) and as Doug Glatt in Goon: Last of the Enforcers (2017).
In 2018, Scott took on a lead role in the horror film Bloodline. The executive producer, Emma Tammi, praised his acting, saying he is a "very versatile actor." In May 2018, Scott joined the TV series Lethal Weapon as a new main character, Wesley Cole. He was praised for his "charming" performance. The show ended after three seasons in 2019.
In 2019, he appeared in the film Already Gone, which was produced by Keanu Reeves. From 2022 to 2023, Scott starred as Father Joe in the Fox comedy series Welcome to Flatch. In 2023, he appeared in the action comedy film The Wrath of Becky. In 2024, he had a role in the film Jackpot!.
Personal Life
Seann William Scott prefers to keep his personal life private.
He was engaged to fashion model Lindsay Frimodt in 2012, but they later ended their engagement in 2013. They remained friends.
On September 2, 2019, he married interior designer Olivia Korenberg. They had a daughter in June 2020. In February 2024, Scott filed for divorce. He requested to share legal and physical custody of their daughter.
