Smith's Wood is a place where people live in the north of Solihull in the West Midlands of England. It is a civil parish, which is a type of local area. In 2011, about 10,476 people lived there.
Important roads like the A452 and M6 are on its north and east sides. Other nearby places include Kingshurst, Fordbridge, and Castle Bromwich.
Smith's Wood has many parks and green areas. One special place is the ancient 'Smith's Wood' itself. This used to be part of the old Forest of Arden. In 2004, it became a Local Nature Reserve. This means it's a protected area for nature. It's being improved as part of a project to make the area better.
Smith's Wood is also home to Smith's Wood Boys Football Club. This is a big football club for boys that started in 1970. A famous football player, Jamie Ward, who played for Nottingham Forest, grew up in Smith's Wood. He went to Smith's Wood Sports College.
Many old homes in Smith's Wood have been taken down and new ones built. This is part of a big project to make North Solihull a better place to live. New things like a main street, a community center, and new private homes have been built. The Woodlands campus of Solihull College was finished in 2006.

This was the sixth highest percentage in Solihull at that time. Smith's Wood also had the highest percentage of people who identified as mixed race (3%) and black (3%) in the area in 2001.
