Soon-tek Oh (Korean: 오순택, O Sun-taek) was a Korean-American actor. He was also known as Soon-taek Oh, Soon-taik Oh, or Soon-teck Oh. He was born on June 29, 1932, and passed away on April 4, 2018.

Soon-tek Oh was famous for many roles. He was the voice of Fa Zhou in Disney's Mulan and its sequel Mulan II. He also played Colonel Yin in Missing in Action 2: The Beginning. He appeared in many movies and popular TV shows. These include Stargate SG-1, MacGyver, M*A*S*H, Charlie's Angels, and Hawaii Five-O.

Early Life and Education

Soon-tek Oh was born in Mokpo on June 29, 1932. At that time, Korea was under Japanese rule. He went to high school in Gwangju, South Korea. Later, he studied at Yonsei University in Seoul.

After Japan's rule ended in 1945, and before the Korean War started in 1950, his family moved. They immigrated to the United States. There, he attended the University of Southern California. He later earned a special degree called an MFA from UCLA.

Acting Career and Theatre Work

Soon-tek Oh was part of the original cast of a famous musical. It was called Pacific Overtures by Stephen Sondheim. He was also one of the first members of East West Players. This was an Asian American theatre group started in 1965.

In 1995, he started his own theatre group. It was called the Society of Heritage Performers. This group later became the Lodestone Theatre Ensemble. From 2005, he worked as a special professor at Seoul Institute of the Arts.

Later Life and Passing

Soon-tek Oh passed away in Los Angeles on April 4, 2018. He was 85 years old. He had been battling Alzheimer's disease for a long time.
