Spencer Breslin (born May 18, 1992) is an American actor and songwriter. He has been in many movies, including Disney's The Kid, The Santa Clause 2, The Cat in the Hat, and The Shaggy Dog. He has also appeared in TV shows like Teamo Supremo and Law & Order.
Since 2016, Spencer has been writing songs and playing in his band, Broken Machine. He also co-hosts a podcast called Spencer & Lara's Vomitorium.

Spencer's Early Life
Spencer Breslin was born in New York City, New York. His dad, Michael Breslin, worked in telecommunications. His mom, Kim Breslin, was a talent manager. Spencer has two siblings, an older brother named Ryan and a younger sister named Abigail. Both of his siblings are also actors. Spencer and his siblings grew up in the Lower East Side of New York, where their mom taught them at home.
Spencer's Acting Journey
Starting Out (1997–2004)
Spencer was found by a talent scout at a playground in New York City when he was just 3 years old! He then starred in more than 50 commercials for popular brands like McDonald's and Pampers.
He first appeared on TV at age 4. In 1997, he was a regular on the ABC show Soul Man, playing the youngest child of Dan Aykroyd's character. Later, he guest-starred in other shows, including Law & Order, before appearing in Stephen King's Storm of the Century in 1999.
When he was 8, Spencer starred in the 2000 fantasy comedy-drama film Disney's The Kid. He played Rusty, a younger version of the character played by Bruce Willis.
For his role in Disney's The Kid, Spencer won the 2000 Young Artist Award. This award is given to talented young actors. He was also nominated for other awards, like the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor.
He played a little boy in the 2000 comedy film Meet the Parents. Later that year, he was Joey in the Disney Channel Original Movie The Ultimate Christmas Present.
Spencer played Curtis the Elf in the 2002 Christmas movie The Santa Clause 2. This was the first of four movies where he acted alongside Tim Allen. He also appeared in the 2002 TV movie Mom's on Strike and the 2003 film You Wish!.
In 2003, Spencer was nominated for a Young Artist Award for his voice work in Return to Neverland, where he voiced Cubby the lost boy. That same year, he also voiced Captain Crandall in the Disney cartoon series Teamo Supremo.
In 2003, Spencer starred with Dakota Fanning and Mike Myers in the fantasy comedy film The Cat in the Hat. He played Conrad, Dakota Fanning's older brother.
Spencer acted with his real-life younger sister, Abigail Breslin, in the 2004 comedy drama Raising Helen. They played siblings whose aunt, played by Kate Hudson, becomes their guardian. The two siblings worked together again in the 2004 romantic comedy The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. In this movie, Spencer played a prince, and Abigail had a small role as a girl in an orphanage. In 2004, Spencer was also in the CBS sitcom Center of the Universe with John Goodman.
Also in 2004, Spencer was asked to read alongside other young actors when Dr. Seuss received his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Later Roles (2005–Present)
In 2006, Spencer played Curtis the Elf again in The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. He also appeared in the superhero comedy Zoom and the comedy The Shaggy Dog that same year.
Spencer then starred as the main character in the 2007 comedy Harold, about a teen who starts losing his hair early. He also appeared in M. Night Shyamalan's thriller The Happening.
In 2010, Spencer lent his voice to Anthony in the animated science fiction film Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey. MTV also listed him as one of "The 17 Coolest 17 Year-Olds from Around the World."
Spencer appeared as Max in the 2011 film Born to Race. He then played Jason in the 2012 romantic comedy Stuck in Love. Spencer also appeared with his sister Abigail as Cousin Derek in the 2012 crime drama Perfect Sisters. Spencer started working behind the scenes too, as an executive producer for Really Bad Movie! in 2013, and by writing and directing his own short films.
In 2016, Spencer starred as Isaac in the horror film Some Kind of Hate.
Since July 2016, Spencer has been co-hosting the Spencer & Lara's Vomitorium weekly podcast. On the podcast, they talk about things that are annoying or frustrating.
Spencer's Music Career
Spencer finished recording his first folk-indie album, Labor Day, in October 2009. The album was released in August 2012. It was recorded by Gary Olson and produced by James William Hindle.
Spencer has also started his own record label called Acadian Recording Company.
As of July 2016, he was playing in his rock 'n roll and indie folk band, Broken Machine. Spencer writes all of his own music for the band.

Labor Day is Spencer's first album. He released it on his own label, Acadian Recording Co., on August 14, 2012.
Spencer wrote and composed the songs for Labor Day when he was 16 years old. It was recorded by Gary Olson, who has worked with many famous musicians. The album was produced by James William Hindle, whose music has been featured in TV shows like The O.C.. Other musicians who played on the record include Kevin Barker and Isobel Knowles.
