Star-Lord (whose real name is Peter Jason Quill) is a cool character and superhero from American comic books by Marvel Comics. He was created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan. Star-Lord first appeared in a comic called Marvel Preview #4 in January 1976.
Peter Quill is special because his mom, Meredith Quill, was human, and his dad, J'son, was from an alien race called the Spartoi. Peter becomes Star-Lord, a kind of space police officer who protects the galaxy.
He played big roles in comic stories like "Annihilation" (2006) and "Annihilation: Conquest" (2007). Later, he became the leader of a superhero team in space called the Guardians of the Galaxy. This happened when their comic book series was relaunched in 2008.
Star-Lord is very popular and has appeared in many Marvel products. These include animated TV shows, toys, and trading cards. You might also know him from the movies! Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. These include Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). He also appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special (both in 2022). A younger Peter Quill was played by Wyatt Oleff in the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Chris Pratt will play him again in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). Star-Lord also showed up in the Disney+ animated series What If...? (2021).

Star-Lord's Amazing Powers and Skills
Star-Lord is super smart and great at solving problems. He is an expert in close-up fighting and knows how to use many different human and alien guns. He also understands a lot about various alien cultures and societies.
His Special Suit and Weapons
When Peter Quill is Star-Lord, he wears a special suit. This suit makes him stronger and tougher. It also lets him travel through space! He uses a unique weapon called an "Element Gun." This gun can shoot out blasts of the four elements: air, earth, fire, and water.
Star-Lord also has a special connection with his spaceship, which is alive! Her name is Ship.
About Ship
Ship is a living energy being. She usually looks like a spaceship, but she can change her shape whenever she wants. She can fly through the air, space, and even travel underwater. Ship has many cool features like shields, energy blasters, and advanced sensors. She can even create any kind of food or drink you want! Ship can also make a human body for herself and use it. Even if she is completely destroyed, she can put herself back together because her true form is her mind. She cares a lot about the people she works with, almost like a mother.
Ship can also create small, mobile robots called Widgets. These droids can scout out areas, gather information, and then return to her. We don't know all of Ship's amazing abilities.
Changes to Star-Lord's Gear
After a tough battle, Star-Lord's element gun, suit, and Ship were destroyed. He was badly hurt and had to get cybernetic implants from doctors. One implant in his eye lets him see all kinds of energy. A memory chip in his brain helps him remember everything perfectly.
Later, these implants were removed. Star-Lord then got a new Kree-issued battle-suit that helps him hide from heat. This suit became the famous look for the Guardians of the Galaxy. He also got a battle helmet and a universal translator. His helmet helps him analyze battle plans, see better, and get oxygen in space. Star-Lord now uses two Kree sub-machine guns that can fire different types of bullets, including explosives.
Master of the Sun Powers
As "Master of the Sun," Peter Quill gained new powers. He can float in the air when he meditates. When he uses his powers, his body glows a bright golden light. This light is so strong that he can blast apart a Symbiote Dragon! His mind also becomes very strong, protecting him from mental attacks. His Element Blaster, which used to have limited power, can now channel unlimited energy. He can even call his pistol back to his hand whenever he needs it.
Other Heroes Named Star-Lord
There was a short comic series about another person named Star-Lord. This man was called Sinjin Quarrel. He took on the name Star-Lord 12 years after the original Star-Lord (Peter Jason Quill) disappeared. This series came out from December 1996 to February 1997. It was written by Timothy Zahn and drawn by Dan Lawlis.
