Super Mario 3D World is an exciting platform video game that came out in 2013. It was made for the Wii U console. This game is part of the famous Mario series. It is also a follow-up to Super Mario 3D Land, which was released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011.

The game first launched in Japan on November 21, 2013. It then came to North America on November 22, 2013. Players in Europe got it on November 29, 2013, and in Australia on November 30, 2013. A newer version, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, was later released for the Nintendo Switch. This updated game was announced during a special Nintendo Direct event. The event celebrated the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary.

Gameplay Basics

In Super Mario 3D World, you can play as several popular characters. The main characters are Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad. Each character has special moves that make them unique. This is similar to how characters worked in Super Mario Bros. 2.

Character Abilities

  • Luigi can jump higher than all the other characters. This helps him reach tricky spots.
  • Princess Peach can float in the air for a short time. This makes it easier to cross gaps or land safely.
  • Toad is the fastest character. He can run very quickly through levels.
  • Rosalina is a secret character you can unlock later. She can use a special spin attack. This move was also seen in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. However, Rosalina is the slowest character in the game.

New Power-Ups

A cool new item in the game is the Super Bell. When you grab a Super Bell, your character turns into a cat! This cat form gives you several new abilities. You can climb up walls, which helps you find hidden areas. You can also run faster and perform unique cat attacks. One fun thing about being a cat is that you can climb right up to the top of the goal pole at the end of each level.

Multiplayer Fun

Super Mario 3D World also has a multiplayer mode. This means you can play with your friends! Up to four players can join in the fun at the same time. Working together can help you get through levels, but sometimes it's also fun to compete for coins!
