Tarentum is a small town, called a borough, located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It is about 22 miles (35 km) northeast of Downtown Pittsburgh. The town sits along the Allegheny River.

Long ago, Tarentum was an important place for factories. They made things like plate glass and bottles here. Other products included bricks, lumber, and steel items. The Pennsylvania Railroad used to have a station in Tarentum. Its train tracks ran right through the town. In 2020, about 4,352 people lived in Tarentum. You can even see two statues of Hebe, the Greek goddess of youth, displayed in the borough.
