Terrell Maurice Gausha (born September 9, 1987) is an American professional boxer. He is known for his skill in the ring. In 2017, he fought for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight title. Before turning professional, Terrell represented the United States as an amateur boxer. He competed in the middleweight division at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Early Life and Training
Terrell Gausha grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He finished Glenville High School in 2005. Terrell started boxing when he was just 10 years old. His first coach was Bob Davis at The Glenville Recreation Center. Later, Renard Safo became his coach, helping him develop his boxing skills.
Amateur Boxing Career
Terrell had a very successful amateur career. In 2009, he won the USA National Title. This allowed him to compete in the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships. He also took part in several international matches.
Between 2010 and 2012, Terrell joined the World Series of Boxing. This was a team-based boxing competition. He had a good record, winning 5 out of 7 fights.
Road to the Olympics
In 2012, Terrell entered the USA Championship tournament in Colorado Springs. Even though he wasn't expected to win, he surprised everyone. He defeated several top boxers, including a National Golden Gloves Champion. Terrell won 6 fights in just 7 days! On March 3, 2012, he became the USA National Champion by beating the previous champion, Caleb Plant.
Winning this championship gave him a chance to qualify for the Olympics. On May 9, 2012, Terrell won a key match at the Americas Olympic Qualification Tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This win guaranteed him a spot in the 2012 Olympics. A few days later, on May 13, 2012, he won the gold medal at that tournament. He defeated Junior Castillo with a score of 6–2.
Olympic Games
Terrell Gausha competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. On July 28, 2012, he won his first Olympic fight. He knocked out Armenian boxer Andranik Hakobyan. However, he was later eliminated from the Olympics after a close and debated decision against India's Vijender Singh.
Professional Boxing Journey
Terrell Gausha started his professional boxing career on November 9, 2012. He won his first fight by knocking out Dustin Caplinger. This fight was shown on TV.
In his fourth professional fight, Terrell was knocked down by William Waters. But he quickly recovered and won the fight by a unanimous decision.
Challenging for a World Title
On August 12, 2017, it was announced that Terrell would challenge Erislandy Lara. Lara was a champion holding the WBA (Super) and IBO titles. Their fight took place on October 14, 2017, in New York City. It was a big event with other important fights on the same night.
Lara won the fight by a unanimous decision after 12 rounds. He knocked Terrell down during the match. Even though Terrell lost, it was a valuable experience fighting for a world title.
Recent Fights
After the title fight, Terrell quickly bounced back. He won his next fight against Joey Hernandez with a first-round TKO (Technical Knockout).
On May 25, 2019, Terrell fought Austin Trout. Terrell seemed to be winning most of the fight. However, the judges had different opinions. One judge scored it for Terrell, another for Trout, and the third judge scored it as a draw. This meant the fight ended in a split draw.
Terrell's next big fight was against Erickson Lubin. This fight was an eliminator, meaning the winner would get a chance to fight for the WBC super welterweight title. Lubin won the fight by unanimous decision.
On March 13, 2021, Terrell Gausha fought Jamontay Clark. Terrell won the fight by knockout in the second round.
Middleweight Championship Fight
On June 15, 2024, Terrell Gausha challenged Carlos Adames for his WBC middleweight title in Las Vegas. Terrell lost the fight by unanimous decision.
