Terryville is a special kind of community called a census-designated place (CDP). It is located in Litchfield County, Connecticut, in the United States. Terryville is the biggest village within the town of Plymouth.
In 2010, about 5,387 people lived in Terryville. The whole town of Plymouth had 12,243 people. Terryville got its name from Eli Terry Jr. His father, Eli Terry Sr., was a very famous clockmaker. You can also find the Lock Museum of America in Terryville. There's even a water wheel downtown that honors Eli Terry Jr.

Terryville is in the eastern part of Plymouth town. It's also in the southeast corner of Litchfield County. To the east, Terryville shares a border with the city of Bristol. Bristol is in Hartford County. Terryville is about 10 miles north of Waterbury. Waterbury is located in New Haven County.
U.S. Route 6 is a main road that goes right through the middle of Terryville. This road leads east towards Bristol and west towards Thomaston.
Land and Water Features
Terryville covers a total area of about 7.2 square kilometers (2.8 square miles). Most of this area is land. Only a small part, about 0.07 square kilometers (0.03 square miles), is water. The Pequabuck River flows through the center of Terryville. It moves from west to east. The Pequabuck River is a smaller river that eventually flows into the Farmington River.

History of Terryville Schools
The Prospect Street School was once used as the high school. This was until the 1940s. A new high school building was then built on North Main Street. This building was used until January 2008. After that, the Prospect Street School became an elementary school. It closed in January 2008.
