Tituss Burgess (born February 21, 1979) is an American actor and singer. He is famous for his strong tenor voice. He has performed in many Broadway shows. You might know him best as Titus Andromedon from the Netflix comedy show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2020). For this role, he was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards. He also appeared in Schmigadoon! in 2023.
On Broadway, Tituss was the first actor to play Sebastian in The Little Mermaid. He also played Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the 2009 version of Guys and Dolls. In 2023, he took on the role of Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge!.

About Tituss Burgess
Tituss Burgess grew up in Athens, Georgia. He went to Cedar Shoals High School, where he loved being part of the theater group. Later, he studied music at the University of Georgia.
After college, Tituss moved to Orlando, Florida. He worked at Walt Disney World, singing in the Festival of the Lion King show. This helped him become a professional actor.
Tituss's Acting Journey
Starting on Broadway (2005–2014)
Tituss Burgess first appeared on Broadway in 2005 in the musical Good Vibrations. He then joined Jersey Boys later that year.
In 2007, Tituss created the role of Sebastian the Crab in the Broadway musical The Little Mermaid. He acted alongside Sierra Boggess and Norm Lewis. In 2009, he played Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls. This role is usually played by a white actor, so it was a special casting choice. He also performed in other theater shows like The Wiz and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Tituss also performed in many concerts and benefit shows. He sang at "Broadway for Obama" in 2008 and had his own concert at Birdland in New York City in 2009. He even appeared on the TV show 30 Rock as a character named D'Fwan.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2019)
On March 6, 2015, Netflix released Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Tituss Burgess starred in this show as Titus Andromedon, who was Kimmy's roommate. People loved his performance! The New York Times newspaper said the role was "tailor-made" for him.
For his amazing acting in the first season, he was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award and an Primetime Emmy Award in 2015.
In 2016, Tituss and Norm Lewis played Sebastian the Crab and King Triton again. This was for a special concert version of The Little Mermaid at the Hollywood Bowl. He also lent his voice to the movie The Angry Birds Movie (2016). He was even a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2017.
Back to Broadway and More (2020–present)
From 2020 to 2022, Tituss was a voice actor in the musical cartoon series Central Park. He played Cole Tillerman. He also starred as Remy in a special online concert of Ratatouille the Musical in 2021. This musical started as a fun idea on TikTok! On December 2, 2021, he played Rooster Hannigan in the NBC TV special Annie Live!.
In 2023, he was the Narrator in the second season of the Apple TV+ musical comedy Schmigadoon!. From October to December 2023, he returned to Broadway. He played Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge!.
