Tituss Burgess (born February 21, 1979) is an American actor and singer. He has performed in many Broadway musicals. He is well-known for playing Titus Andromedon in the Netflix comedy show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2020). For this role, he was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards. He also appeared in Schmigadoon! in 2023.
On Broadway, Tituss Burgess first played Sebastian in The Little Mermaid. He also played Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the 2009 show Guys and Dolls. In 2023, he was Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge!. He also took on the main role in Oh, Mary! in March 2025.

About Tituss Burgess
Tituss Burgess grew up in Athens, Georgia. He went to Cedar Shoals High School and was very active in their theater program. He later studied music at the University of Georgia.
After college, Burgess moved to Orlando, Florida. He worked at Walt Disney World as a singer for the Festival of the Lion King show. This helped him become a professional actor.

Early Broadway Roles (2005–2014)
Tituss Burgess started his Broadway career in 2005. His first show was Good Vibrations. He then joined Jersey Boys later that year.
A big role for him was playing Sebastian the Crab in the Broadway musical The Little Mermaid in 2007. He performed alongside actors like Sierra Boggess and Norm Lewis. In 2009, he played Nicely-Nicely Johnson in a new version of Guys and Dolls. He also acted in other theater shows like The Wiz and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Burgess also performed in special concerts. He sang at "Broadway for Obama" in 2008 and had his own solo concert at Birdland in 2009. He also appeared on the TV show 30 Rock as a character named D'Fwan.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2019)
In 2015, Netflix released Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Tituss Burgess starred as Titus Andromedon, the main character Kimmy's roommate. People loved his performance. The New York Times newspaper said the role was perfect for him.
For this role, he was nominated for several awards. These included a Critics' Choice Television Award and an Primetime Emmy Award in 2015. He continued to receive Emmy nominations for his work on the show in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
While on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Burgess also did other projects. In 2016, he sang as Sebastian the Crab again in a live concert of The Little Mermaid in Hollywood. He also lent his voice to The Angry Birds Movie (2016). He was a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2017. He also had guest roles in TV shows like Miracle Workers and The Good Fight in 2019.
Recent Work and Broadway Return (2020–Present)
From 2020 to 2022, Tituss Burgess was a voice actor in the musical cartoon series Central Park. He played Cole Tillerman. He also starred as Remy in an online concert of Ratatouille the Musical in 2021. This musical started as a popular idea on TikTok. Later in 2021, he played Rooster Hannigan in the NBC special Annie Live!.
In 2023, he was the Narrator in the second season of the Apple TV+ show Schmigadoon!. From October to December 2023, he returned to Broadway. He played Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge!. In March 2025, he took on the role of Mary Todd Lincoln in the Broadway show Oh, Mary!. He is set to play this role again from June to August 2025.
