Trappe is a small town located in Talbot County, Maryland, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,177 people lived there. The town is known for a large new housing and business area called Trappe East or "Lakeside." There have been some discussions about how its water treatment system will work.

History of Trappe

Trappe became an official town in 1827. Its name might have come from early settlers who used traps for animals like wolves. Another idea is that it was named after a type of monastery called a Trappist monastery.

Two historic places in Trappe, Compton and The Wilderness, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are important sites that are protected.

In 2019, a "Blessing Box" was set up at the Trappe Volunteer Firehouse by Josh Cherry. This box is like a small community pantry where people can share food and other items.
