Walnut is a small city in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, in the United States. In 2020, about 747 people lived there. Walnut is easy to find because it's right on Interstate 80.
The city is well-known for its many antique shops. It has also become an important place for making electricity using wind turbines. These tall turbines use wind to create power for homes and businesses.

Learning in Walnut: Schools
The AHSTW Community School District serves the community of Walnut. Before July 1, 2016, students went to the Walnut Community School District. That district then joined with AHSTW.
The Walnut School first opened in 1910. Over the years, new parts were added to the school building. The Walnut school building closed in 2016. The city government decided to buy the school building. They plan to remove the newer parts of the building.
