How Did Warwick Mountain Get Its Name?

Warwick Mountain was given its name in 1919 by a man named Arthur O. Wheeler. He was an important surveyor who helped map out the Canadian Rockies.

Wheeler named the mountain after Warwick Castle in England. He thought the mountain looked a lot like a castle because of its shape, with steep sides and a rugged top. This is why he described its appearance as "castellated," meaning it looked like a castle. The mountain is also about 8 kilometers (5 miles) north of Mount King Edward, another significant peak.
