Wayne is a small town located in Kennebec County, Maine, United States. It's part of the wider Lewiston-Auburn and Augusta areas. In 2020, about 1,129 people lived here.
The town got its name from Anthony Wayne, a famous general from the American Revolutionary War. During the summer, Wayne is home to Camp Androscoggin, a popular summer camp. It's also a great spot for outdoor fun, being part of the beautiful Winthrop Lakes Region.
