Weirs Beach is a fun area located in the northern part of Laconia, a city in Belknap County, New Hampshire. It sits right on the southern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. This spot is famous for its beautiful beach and as a popular stop for the cruise ship Mount Washington. It's also a big gathering place for bikers during Laconia Motorcycle Week every June. Locals often call it "The Weirs."

Exploring Weirs Beach

Weirs Beach is named after its wide, sandy public beach on Lake Winnipesaukee. Right next to the beach, you'll find a lively street called Lakeside Avenue. It has a boulevard and a boardwalk that stretch for about a quarter mile.

Lakeside Fun

The main summer dock for the big cruise ship, MS Mount Washington, is right on the boulevard. There's also a large public dock where many boats stop. Across the street, you'll see fun seasonal arcades and shops that have been there for many years.

The Winnipesaukee Pier

The Winnipesaukee Pier sticks out into the lake from the main boulevard. This pier was built in 1925. It used to be a very busy place, even hosting famous big band music groups back in the day!

Things to Do at Weirs Beach

The Weirs Beach area is packed with exciting attractions. You can find the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, a huge arcade called Funspot, and Mount Washington Cruises. There's also the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad and the Weirs Drive-In Theater.

Many motels, cottage complexes, and condominiums are available for visitors. If you love boating, there are four marinas in the village. They offer boat rentals, sales, storage, and maintenance.

Events and Gatherings

Weirs Beach often hosts a summer concert series, where you can enjoy live music. It's also the main spot for Laconia Motorcycle Week. This big event brings many motorcycle riders to the area each year.
