Wellington is a city located in Carbon County, Utah, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,605 people lived there.
The community was first settled in 1878. A group of thirteen Mormons, led by Jefferson Tidwell, started the town. It was named after Justus Wellington Seeley, Jr., who was part of the Emery County Court. Many people who live in Wellington travel to nearby Price for work. Others work in the coal mines in the area.

Wellington is in the southwestern part of Carbon County. It is located along U.S. routes 6 and 191. These roads connect Wellington to other towns.
For example, Price, the county seat, is about 6 miles (10 km) northwest. Green River is about 57 miles (92 km) to the southeast.

Wellington is just north of the Price River. This river flows southeast and eventually joins the Green River.
