Zumholz was once a small town, or municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Sense district of the canton of Fribourg. Most people in Zumholz spoke German, even though the Fribourg canton mostly speaks French.
On January 1, 2017, Zumholz joined with another town called Oberschrot. Both became part of the larger municipality of Plaffeien.

Buildings and roads took up about 7.9% of the land. This included houses and places where people worked. About 3.2% of the area was rivers or lakes. All the water in Zumholz was from flowing rivers.

The school system in Fribourg
