- January 5 – A huge fire broke out in Eindhoven, a city in the Netherlands. It caused a lot of damage!
- February – In London, Thomas Wyatt gave up to the government's soldiers. He had been leading a rebellion.
- February 12 – A sad day in England: Lady Jane Grey, who had been Queen for a short time the previous year, was executed along with her husband. This happened because she was seen as a threat to the new Queen.
