The 2009 US Open was a super exciting tennis tournament! It happened on outdoor hard courts in New York City, United States. The event took place from August 31 to September 14, 2009. It was held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.

This big tournament was supposed to last 14 days. But because of rain, the men's singles final had to be played one day later. This made the event last a bit longer than planned.
