All Hail King Julien is a fun American computer-animated TV show. It's all about King Julien, Maurice, and Mort. These characters are from the famous Madagascar movies by DreamWorks Animation.

The story in this show happens before the first Madagascar movie. This means it's a prequel. It's the second TV show from DreamWorks Animation based on the Madagascar world.

The series first came out on December 19, 2014, on Netflix. Five episodes were released at once. More seasons followed, with the final season coming out on December 1, 2017. You can still watch reruns of the show on Universal Kids in the United States and ABC Me in Australia.

Meet King Julien and Friends

This section tells you about the main characters and what happens in the show.

The New King

The show begins when King Julien XII, also called Uncle King Julien, is the ruler. He is a very strict and often scared ring-tailed lemur. A prophecy says he will be eaten by a fossa. Fossa are wild animals that look a bit like cats. Because he is scared, Uncle King Julien decides to give up his throne. This is called abdicating.

He gives the throne to his nephew, who becomes King Julien XIII. This new King Julien loves to party and have fun! Now, he has a whole kingdom of lemurs to lead.

Adventures in Madagascar

While Uncle King Julien is gone, the new King Julien gets into all sorts of funny situations. He has his loyal adviser, Maurice, by his side. Clover, his strong head of security, also helps him. And of course, there's Mort, his biggest fan, who sometimes annoys him.

But ruling isn't always easy! His sneaky Uncle King Julien often comes back. He tries to get rid of his nephew to become king again. King Julien also faces other dangers. These include Karl, a crazy fanaloka, and Clover's twin sister, Crimson.

The Final Seasons

At the end of the fourth season, King Julien loses his throne. He is forced to leave his kingdom by King Koto and his army. But don't worry! King Julien successfully defeats Koto. He gets his kingdom back in the fifth season, which is called Exiled.

The last season shows what happens after Koto is gone. Villains like Karl and Uncle King Julien decide to stop being evil. They try to start a new life. The show ends just as Alex, the lion from the Madagascar movie, arrives on Madagascar. This sets the stage for the first movie. Clover also leaves with her husband, Sage Moondancer, for their honeymoon.
