Anton Vladimirovich Shipulin (Russian: Антон Владимирович Шипулин; born August 21, 1987) is a retired Russian biathlete. He is also a politician. Since 2019, he has served as a member of the State Duma.

Anton Shipulin's Early Life

Anton Shipulin was born into a family of athletes. His parents, Vladimir and Alla Shipulin, were masters in cross-country skiing and biathlon. Anton started training very young. He first learned ski racing from his father.

One day, he saw his older sister, Anastasiya Kuzmina, with a rifle. She was doing biathlon. This made him want to try biathlon too. In 2002, his parents sent him to a sports school in Khanty-Mansiysk. There, he trained with Mikhail Novikov, who was also the coach for Svetlana Sleptsova. This is where Anton's biathlon journey began.
