Arnex-sur-Orbe is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Vaud. The town is part of the Jura-Nord Vaudois area. Its name means "Arnex on Orbe," referring to the nearby Orbe River.

History of Arnex-sur-Orbe

Arnex-sur-Orbe is an old place! It was first written about in the year 1049. Back then, it was called Arniacum.

Geography and Landscape

Arnex-sur-Orbe covers an area of about 7.6 square kilometers (about 2.9 square miles). A big part of this land, about 73.6%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 19.4% of the area. Buildings and roads take up about 6.4% of the land.

The town is located above the western part of the Orbe River valley. Until 2006, Arnex-sur-Orbe was part of the Orbe District. After that, it became part of the new Jura-Nord Vaudois district.
