Artem Lobov's Fighting Journey
Starting in Mixed Martial Arts
Artem Lobov began his professional MMA career in November 2010. His first fight was with a European group called Cage Warriors. Before joining The Ultimate Fighter TV show, he had many fights. He competed in different weight classes, including featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight.
The Ultimate Fighter TV Show
To get on The Ultimate Fighter show, fighters had to win a first fight. Artem lost his first match, but his coach, Conor McGregor, brought him back. Each coach could bring back one fighter who lost.
On the show, Artem won several matches. He defeated James Jenkins and Chris Gruetzemacher by TKO (Technical Knockout). He then knocked out Julian Erosa to reach the finals. In the final match, he was set to fight Saul Rogers. However, Saul couldn't compete due to travel issues. Ryan Hall took his place.
Fighting in the UFC
Artem Lobov's first UFC fight was against Ryan Hall in December 2015. Ryan Hall won that fight. Artem then faced Alex White in February 2016 and also lost.
After these losses, Artem got another chance. He fought Chris Avila at UFC 202 and won by decision. This was a big win for him.
He continued his winning streak by defeating Teruto Ishihara in November 2016.
In April 2017, Artem fought Cub Swanson in a main event. He lost this fight, but both fighters earned a "Fight of the Night" bonus. This means their fight was very exciting!
Artem's last UFC fight was against Michael Johnson in October 2018. He lost this fight by decision. In January 2019, Artem Lobov left the UFC.
After the UFC
After leaving the UFC, Artem Lobov signed a contract with Arena Fight Championship in September 2020. His fight was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bare-Knuckle Boxing Career
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
Soon after leaving the UFC, Artem Lobov joined the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). This is a sport where fighters punch without gloves.
His first BKFC fight was against Jason Knight in April 2019. Artem won this exciting match.
Artem then fought Paulie Malignaggi in June 2019. This was a highly anticipated fight because of a past disagreement between them. Artem won this fight by decision as well.
He had a rematch with Jason Knight in November 2019. This time, Jason Knight won the fight.
Mahatch FC
In July 2021, Artem Lobov competed in a bare-knuckle match in Ukraine. He fought Denys Berinchyk, an Olympic silver medalist in boxing. Artem lost this fight.
