Ashley Miles Greig, born on March 3, 1985, is a famous American gymnast. She was a top artistic gymnast who later became a coach. She is currently the head coach for the Iowa State University Women's Gymnastics team.
Ashley was part of the U.S. women's gymnastics team. She competed at the 2001 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Ghent, Belgium. Her team won a bronze medal there. Ashley also made it to the vault final, finishing eighth.

Ashley's Elite Gymnastics Career
Ashley Miles Greig grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of the U.S. Junior National Team from 1997 to 1998. She was also on the team from 1999 to 2001. Later, she joined the Senior National Team from 2001 to 2003.
Junior National Championships
Ashley competed in her first U.S. Junior National Championships in Denver, Colorado, in 1997. She earned second place on the vault. She also finished 10th in the all-around competition.
In 1998, Ashley competed at the Junior Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana. She placed eighth on vault and 21st in the all-around.
At the 1999 Junior Nationals in Sacramento, California, she did very well. Ashley placed second on vault and ninth on the balance beam. She also finished 12th in the all-around. That same year, she placed fourth all-around at the Japan Junior International Championships. She also finished fifth on the beam there.
In 2000, Ashley competed at the Junior Nationals in St. Louis, Missouri. She placed third on vault and 13th in the all-around.
Senior National Championships
In 2001, Ashley became a senior gymnast. She finished fifth in the all-around at the U.S. Senior National Gymnastics Championships. This competition was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her strong performance helped her earn a spot on the 2001 U.S. World Championship team. She also tied for second place on vault and fourth on uneven bars.
The next year, in 2002, she competed at Nationals in Cleveland, Ohio. Ashley placed third on vault and ninth in the all-around.
Ashley also won the all-around title at the 2002 Spring Cup. This event took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She also won the balance beam title there. She placed second on vault and floor exercise. The U.S. women's team also won the team title at this event.
During her time as an elite gymnast, Ashley trained with great coaches. She worked with Michael Harris at Harris Unlimited Gymnastics in Boerne, Texas. She also trained with Kimberly and Steve Waples at South Texas Gymnastics Academy.
College Gymnastics Career
After her elite gymnastics career, Ashley Miles received a scholarship. She went to the University of Alabama for college.
During her time in college, Ashley became a national champion. She won the NCAA national vault titles in 2003, 2004, and 2005. She also won the national floor exercise title in 2004.
In 2006, Ashley was named the National Collegiate Gymnast of the Year. She also received the Honda Sports Award. This award goes to top NCAA athletes.

Coaching Career
On April 26, 2023, Ashley Miles Greig became a head coach. She was named the head coach of the Iowa State University Women's Gymnastics program. She is the eighth person to hold this coaching position in the program's history.
