- Former Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickramasinghe was the chairperson of the APDU. He held this role from 2005 until April 5, 2024.
- The current chairperson is Judith Collins. She is also the Attorney-General of New Zealand. She became the chairperson on April 5, 2024.
