Bahrain is a country in the Middle East. It has sent athletes to compete in the Summer Olympic Games ten times. However, Bahrain has never participated in the Winter Olympic Games.

For many years, all of Bahrain's Olympic medals were won by athletes who were originally from African countries. These athletes later became citizens of Bahrain. The country's very first Olympic medal was a bronze. It was won by Maryam Yusuf Jamal in the women's 1500 meters running event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Maryam was originally from Ethiopia. Later, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) changed the medal results for that race. This happened because the athletes who won the gold and silver medals were disqualified. Because of this, Maryam Yusuf Jamal's bronze medal was upgraded to a gold medal!

Four years later, at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Bahrain won its first gold and silver medals. These were won by two women from Kenya who became Bahraini citizens. Ruth Jebet won gold in the 3000m steeplechase race. Eunice Kirwa won silver in the marathon. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Rashid Ramzi, who was originally from Morocco, won a gold medal in the men's 1,500 meters running event. However, he later lost his medal because of a rule violation.

The 2024 Summer Olympics were Bahrain's most successful Games ever! Bahrain won four medals in total. Akhmed Tazhudinov won Bahrain's first-ever gold medal in wrestling. Gor Minasyan also won a bronze medal in weightlifting.
