Balázs Dzsudzsák (born on December 23, 1986) is a professional footballer from Hungary. He plays as a winger for the club Debreceni VSC in Hungary's top league.
Balázs started his football journey at his hometown club, Debreceni VSC. He helped them win the league title three times in a row. In January 2008, he moved to PSV in the Netherlands and won another league title there. Later, he played for Dynamo Moscow and then for clubs in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
Balázs first played for the Hungarian national team in 2007. He played 109 games for his country, which is a record! He was also the team captain at the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament. On November 20, 2022, he became the player with the most appearances for the national team.

Balázs's Club Career
Starting Out in Hungary
Balázs Dzsudzsák was born in Debrecen, Hungary, but grew up in a town called Nyírlugos. He began playing football at a young age. He joined a football academy that helped young players get ready for Debreceni VSC. In 2004, he played for a team called Létavértes on loan. This was in Hungary's third division.
Playing for Debrecen
Balázs made his first appearance in Hungary's top league in 2004. In his first season, he played two games. In his second season, he played ten games and scored two goals. After that, he became a regular player for Debrecen. He played 36 games and scored 12 goals. He helped Debrecen win the Hungarian National Championship I three times (2005, 2006, and 2007). They also won the Hungarian Super Cup three times in those same years.
Moving to PSV Eindhoven
On October 24, 2007, Balázs signed a five-year contract with the Dutch club PSV. He was supposed to join PSV in the summer of 2008. However, another player left the team, so PSV brought Balázs in earlier, in January 2008. A PSV scout said that Balázs was "an incredible talent." He was described as fast, good at teamwork, and able to pass the ball well.
Balázs played his first game in the Eredivisie (the Dutch top league) on January 12, 2008. PSV won the game 1–0 against Feyenoord. In the next game, he scored his first league goal. He also made his first assist on January 23, 2008. He scored five league goals in his first season. This helped PSV win the Eredivisie title.
In the 2008–09 season, Balázs scored his first three goals in one game (a hat-trick). This happened in a 6–0 win against ADO Den Haag on February 5, 2009. He played 32 league games that season, scoring 11 goals and helping with 9 assists.
For the 2009–10 season, Balázs was named the best player of the match. This was in a 4–3 win against Ajax on August 15, 2009. He scored two goals and made one assist in that game. Balázs finished the season with 14 goals and 16 assists.
The 2010–11 season was his best one yet. He scored 16 goals and made 12 assists in the league. He also scored 7 goals in 13 European games. In total, he scored 24 goals in 49 games that season. Even though he extended his contract with PSV, other clubs were interested in him.
Playing for Anzhi Makhachkala
On June 12, 2011, Balázs moved to Russian Premier League club Anzhi Makhachkala. He signed a four-year contract. He said he was "very happy" to join Anzhi. He was excited to play with famous players like Roberto Carlos and Samuel Eto'o. He played his first game for Anzhi on August 6 against Tom Tomsk. Balázs played eight games for Anzhi, mostly as a substitute. On August 27, 2011, he broke his collar bone in a game. This injury kept him from playing for the rest of the season.
Time at Dynamo Moscow
On January 12, 2012, Balázs moved to Dynamo Moscow. Dynamo paid a lot of money for him, making him the most expensive Hungarian player ever at that time. He played his first game for Dynamo on March 9, 2012. He helped set up a goal in a 1–1 draw against CSKA Moscow.
2012–13 Season Highlights


On August 19, 2012, Balázs scored his first league goal for Dynamo Moscow. This was against Terek Grozny. In the next game, on August 25, 2012, he had a great game. He scored a goal and helped with two more in a 3–2 win against Lokomotiv Moscow.
He also scored in a Moscow derby game against CSKA Moscow on September 30, 2012. Dynamo won that game 2–0. On December 1, 2012, he scored in a 3–0 home win against Rubin Kazan.
On May 5, 2013, Balázs scored his last goal of the 2012–13 Russian Premier League season. This was in a 2–1 win against Krylya Sovetov Samara.
2014–15 Season Highlights
On December 10, 2014, Balázs was honored by his old club, PSV. They displayed his footprint at the club's museum. On December 19, 2014, he was named the best Hungarian football player of the year 2014 by a Hungarian sports journal.
On April 9, 2015, Balázs scored a fantastic goal against CSKA Moscow. Dynamo Moscow won the game 2–1. After the match, Balázs said that the win felt like winning a final.
Playing for Bursaspor
On August 16, 2015, Balázs signed with Bursaspor in Turkey. He scored his first two goals for Bursaspor on September 12. This was in a game against Gençlerbirliği.
Playing for Al Wahda
On March 29, 2018, Balázs played for Al Wahda when they won the Arabian Gulf Cup. They beat Al Wasl 2–1.
Coming Back to Debrecen
On September 22, 2020, Balázs returned to his former club, Debreceni VSC. The team had been moved down to a lower league, the Nemzeti Bajnokság II. So, Balázs played his first game back in that league.
On March 6, 2021, he scored his first goal in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II. This was against Kaposvári Rákóczi FC. On July 1, 2022, he signed a new one-year contract with Debrecen. At the end of the 2024–25 season, he signed another new deal. This means he will keep playing for Debrecen until June 2026.
Balázs's International Career

Balázs Dzsudzsák played his first game for the Hungarian national team on June 2, 2007. This game was in Greece. He scored his first goal for Hungary on May 24, 2008, also against Greece. His fourth goal was a winning goal in the 94th minute against Finland on October 12, 2010.
On September 10, 2013, Balázs scored a goal in a 5–1 win over Estonia. This was during a World Cup qualification match.
On October 11, 2013, Hungary lost a game 8–1 to the Netherlands. Balázs scored Hungary's only goal in that match.
On May 22, 2014, Hungary played Denmark in Debrecen. Balázs scored the first goal of the match. The game ended in a 2–2 draw.
On October 11, 2014, Hungary tied with Romania in a Euro 2016 qualifying game. Balázs scored the goal that made the score even. On May 31, 2016, Balázs was chosen to be the captain of Hungary's team for Euro 2016.
On June 14, 2016, he played in the first group match at Euro 2016. Hungary won 2–0 against Austria. Three days later, on June 18, he played in a 1–1 draw against Iceland. Balázs also played in the last group game on June 22. This was a 3–3 draw against Portugal. He scored Hungary's second and third goals in that game. This helped his team finish at the top of their group.
On November 20, 2022, Balázs played his last game for the national team against Greece. Hungary won the match 2–1. After the game, he thanked the fans for their support.

Charity Work
Balázs Dzsudzsák has helped many good causes.
- He gave money to a tournament that honored young players who had passed away.
- He and another Hungarian player, Roland Juhász, each gave money to help people affected by a factory accident.
- On April 13, 2013, Balázs gave a medical device worth a lot of money to a charity fund.
- In September 2014, as the captain of the Hungarian national team, he and his teammates paid for tickets for about 1,200 fans to watch an away game against Romania.

On July 26, 2013, EA Sports announced that Balázs would be on the Hungarian cover of the video game FIFA 14. He appeared alongside the famous global cover star, Lionel Messi.
