Banks Lake South is a small community in Grant County, Washington, United States. It's called a "census-designated place" (CDP) because it's an area that the government counts for population statistics, but it's not officially a city or town with its own local government. In 2020, about 234 people lived here.

Geography of Banks Lake South
Banks Lake South is located in the northern part of Grant County. It sits right next to Coulee City. The community is on the east side of Banks Lake, which is a large lake that's part of the Grand Coulee valley.
How to Get There
A major road, U.S. Route 2, goes through Banks Lake South. If you head east on this road, you'll reach Wilbur in about 30 miles. Going west for about 68 miles will take you to Wenatchee. The big city of Spokane is about 94 miles to the east, also along US 2.
Another important road, Washington State Route 155, starts near Banks Lake South and goes northeast for about 25 miles to the city of Grand Coulee. This city is famous for being close to the huge Grand Coulee Dam.
Land and Water
Banks Lake South covers a total area of about 7.5 square kilometers (about 2.9 square miles). Most of this area, around 6.3 square kilometers (2.4 square miles), is land. The rest, about 1.2 square kilometers (0.46 square miles), is water, mainly from Banks Lake.
