Bibern was once a small town, also known as a municipality, in the canton of Solothurn, Switzerland. It was located in the Bucheggberg district. On January 1, 2014, Bibern joined with several other nearby towns like Tscheppach, Brügglen, and Aetingen to form a new, larger municipality called Buchegg.

Bibern is quite old! The first time anyone wrote about Bibern was in the year 1366. Back then, it was called ze Bibron.

Before it merged, Bibern covered an area of about 3 square kilometers (which is about 1.16 square miles).

Most of this land, about 62%, was used for farming. Forests covered about 30% of the area. The remaining 8% was taken up by buildings and roads. There was also a tiny bit of land, about 0.3%, that had rivers or lakes.

The town of Bibern is found in the Bucheggberg district. It sits in a valley called the Bibern valley, right along the Bibernbach river. Bibern itself is a linear village, which means its buildings are mostly spread out in a line along a road or river.
