Bleiken bei Oberdiessbach was once a small town, or municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Canton of Bern, which is like a state in Switzerland. On January 1, 2014, Bleiken bei Oberdiessbach joined with a nearby town called Oberdiessbach to become one larger municipality.

History of Bleiken bei Oberdiessbach
Bleiken bei Oberdiessbach was first mentioned in old records in 1337. Back then, it was called Bleikon. Later, in 1473, it was simply known as a group of villages.
This area was settled a bit later than many other nearby villages. In 1880, a special health resort, like a spa resort, was built here. People would come to relax and get medical treatments. This spa eventually closed down, and the building is now used as apartments.
Even after the spa was built, the village stayed quite separate from other places. In 1908, a special bus service called Postauto started. This bus connected Bleiken with Oberdiessbach, making it easier for people to travel. Today, many people who live in Bleiken travel to Oberdiessbach for work. Most jobs in Bleiken are still in farming or small local businesses.

The town is located about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) north of the city of Thun. It sits between a deep valley called the Rothachen canyon and a mountain called Äschlenalp.
