Robert "Bob" Lazier (born December 22, 1938 – died April 18, 2020) was an American race car driver. He was known for his exciting career in racing and for being the father of two famous race car drivers, Buddy and Jaques Lazier.

About Bob Lazier
Bob Lazier was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1981, he started racing in the CART series. He was so good that year, he was named CART's Rookie of the Year! He finished in fourth place in two big races, one at Watkins Glen International and another in Mexico.
Bob also raced in the famous 1981 Indianapolis 500 race. He finished 19th in that race.
His family was also very involved in racing. Bob was married to Diane. Their son, Buddy Lazier, won the 1996 Indianapolis 500. Another son, Jaques Lazier, also became a well-known driver in the Indy Racing League. And his grandson, Flinn Lazier, is also a driver in Indy Lights.
In the 1970s, Bob Lazier competed in Formula 5000 races. Later in 2015, he won the Indy Legends Charity Pro–Am race with his co-driver Jim Caudle.
Outside of racing, Bob Lazier built the Tivoli Lodge, a hotel in Vail, Colorado, in 1968.
Bob Lazier passed away on April 18, 2020, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 81.
