Directing Animated Adventures
Bob Persichetti joined the team working on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in December 2015. He became a co-director for the film, working alongside Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. This movie was a huge success and changed how many people saw animated films. It won many awards, including the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Before his big success with Spider-Man, Persichetti was involved in developing a film based on Playmobil toys in 2014. However, he later focused his efforts on the Spider-Man project at Sony.
In February 2019, Persichetti was initially chosen to direct Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. But by March 2021, Joel Crawford took over as the director for that film.
Persichetti returned to the Spider-Verse world to direct Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. He worked with Justin K. Thompson, who also co-directed Across the Spider-Verse. Their roles were officially announced in December 2024, and they have been working on this exciting new film since production began.
Other Creative Contributions
Beyond directing, Bob Persichetti has also produced other animated movies. He was a producer for The Tiger's Apprentice, which came out in 2024. He also served as an executive producer for Playmobil: The Movie (2019) and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). His work helps bring many different animated stories to life on the big screen.
