Boveresse was a small town, also known as a municipality, located in the Val-de-Travers district. It was part of the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland.

On January 1, 2009, Boveresse joined with several other nearby towns. These towns were Buttes, Couvet, Fleurier, Les Bayards, Môtiers, Noiraigue, Saint-Sulpice, and Travers. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Val-de-Travers. This means Boveresse no longer exists as a separate town.

Location and Geography

Boveresse was situated in the western part of Switzerland. It was found in the Jura Mountains, a mountain range that stretches across Switzerland and France. The town was known for its natural beauty.

Elevation and Area

Boveresse was located at an elevation of 735 meters (about 2,411 feet) above sea level. This high location gave it a unique climate. The total area of the municipality was 12.90 square kilometers (about 4.98 square miles).

Population and Community

Before it merged, Boveresse was a small community. It had a close-knit feel due to its size.

Population Figures

History of Boveresse

The history of Boveresse is tied to the Val-de-Travers region. This area has a long past, with records going back centuries.

The Merger of 2009
