Carlos Cornelius Rogers (born July 2, 1981) is a former professional football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). Carlos Rogers was known for his strong defense. He played college football for the Auburn Tigers. Later, he was a top pick in the 2005 NFL draft. He played for the Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers, and Oakland Raiders.

Early Life and High School Sports

Carlos Rogers was born in Augusta, Georgia. He grew up in Thomson, Georgia, before moving to Augusta in middle school. Carlos went to Butler High School. There, he was a star in football, basketball, and track and field.

In football, he played both offense and defense. As a senior, he ran for 1,332 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. He also made 47 tackles and had two interceptions. He was named an All-American by SuperPrep. He was also chosen for local all-star teams. In basketball, he scored about 14 points per game. For track, he ran the 100-meter dash in 10.7 seconds. He ran the 200-meter dash in 21.0 seconds.

College Football Star at Auburn

Carlos Rogers went to Auburn University. He played for the Auburn Tigers football team from 2001 to 2004. He started 44 games during his four years. He finished his college career with 182 tackles. He also had seven interceptions. Carlos holds Auburn's record for career pass deflections with 40. This is the second-highest in SEC history. He was named to Auburn's All-Decade Team for the 2000s. 2007 Season

On October 7, Carlos scored his first touchdown. He intercepted a pass and ran it back 61 yards. This was against the Detroit Lions. He started the first seven games of the season. But he tore two ligaments in his knee. This ended his season early. He had 30 tackles and one interception.

2008 Season

Carlos came back strong from his knee injury. He started the first game of the season. On September 21, he recovered a fumble. He also made a diving interception against Kurt Warner.
