Carrollton is located in the southern part of Greene County. It sits at coordinates 39°17′48″N 90°24′29″W.
Travel and Roads
A major road, U.S. Route 67, goes right through Carrollton. It's known as 5th Street in town. This road can take you north to Jacksonville (about 35 miles away) or south to Alton (about 32 miles away), which is on the Mississippi River.
Another important road, Illinois Route 108, crosses US 67 in the middle of Carrollton. This road goes east to Carlinville (about 29 miles away) and west to Kampsville (about 11 miles away) on the Illinois River.
