Confignon is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Canton of Geneva in Switzerland. It's a lovely place with a mix of natural beauty and settled areas.

History of Confignon
Confignon was first mentioned in old records way back in 1153. At that time, it was known as Cofiniacum. For a while, it was part of a larger municipality called Onex-Confignon. However, in 1851, it became its own independent municipality. This means it got to make its own decisions and manage its own affairs, separate from Onex.
Geography and Nature in Confignon
Confignon covers an area of about 2.77 square kilometers (about 1.07 square miles). A big part of this land, almost half (46.9%), is used for farming. This means there are many fields and orchards where food is grown.
About 8.3% of the area is covered by forests, providing green spaces and homes for wildlife. The rest of the land, about 43%, is where buildings and roads are located. There are also small areas of rivers and lakes, making up about 1.1% of the municipality.
Confignon is located on the left side of the Rhone river, which is a major river in Switzerland. The municipality is made up of several smaller areas or villages. These include Le Coteau, Confignon - village, Cressy - Evaux, Cressy - Sur-le-Beau, Narly - Lécherette, Plaine-de-l'Aire - Les Charrotons, and Plaine-de-l'Aire - Champs-Blancs.
