Cooper Douglas Kupp (born June 15, 1993) is an American professional football player. He is a wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Eastern Washington Eagles.
Kupp achieved amazing success in college. He won the Walter Payton Award in 2015. He also set several records for catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision. The Los Angeles Rams drafted him in 2017.
In 2021, Kupp had an incredible season. He led the entire league in catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns. This rare achievement is called the "receiving triple crown." He was named the Offensive Player of the Year. He also earned the MVP award in Super Bowl LVI, helping the Rams win the championship. In 2025, Kupp joined the Seattle Seahawks and won his second Super Bowl championship that same year.

Cooper Kupp's Early Life and Family
Cooper Kupp was born in Yakima, Washington. Football runs in his family! His grandfather, Jake Kupp, was an NFL offensive lineman. His father, Craig Kupp, was also an NFL quarterback.
Cooper attended Davis High School in Yakima. He was a talented athlete in both football and basketball. In football, he was recognized as an All-State player. He played both defensive back and wide receiver.
During his senior year, Kupp set a school record with 22 total touchdowns. He had 60 catches for over 1,000 yards. Despite these great numbers, he didn't receive any college football scholarship offers right away. Eventually, he got offers from Eastern Washington and Idaho State.
Kupp also played basketball for three years. He helped his high school team win the State 4A Tournament championship.
Cooper Kupp's College Football Journey
Kupp chose to play for Eastern Washington University. He joined coach Beau Baldwin's Eastern Washington Eagles football team in 2012. He spent his first year as a "redshirt," meaning he practiced but didn't play in games.
Setting Records as a Freshman (2013)
In 2013, Kupp started as a wide receiver in his first playing year. He quickly broke many school and national records. He set new national freshman records for receiving yards (1,691), touchdown catches (21), and total catches (93).
He was named to the All-Big Sky Conference First-team. He also won the conference's first-ever Freshman of the Year Award. In December 2013, Kupp received the Jerry Rice Award. This award goes to the best freshman player in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). He was the first player from Eastern Washington to win it.
Kupp was also named a first-team All-American. This is a huge honor for a college player. He was the first freshman wide receiver to achieve this since Randy Moss in 1996.
Continued Success at Eastern Washington (2014-2016)
Kupp continued to excel in his sophomore year (2014). He had 104 catches for 1,431 yards and 16 touchdowns. He earned First-team All-American honors again. He was also named to the first-team All-Big Sky for the second year.
In 2015, Kupp had an even better season. He made 114 catches for 1,642 yards and 19 touchdowns. He broke the Big Sky record for catches in a single season. He was named the Big Sky Offensive Most Valuable Player. Kupp also won the prestigious Walter Payton Award. This award recognizes the most outstanding offensive player in the FCS.
Kupp decided to return for his senior season in 2016. He aimed to break more college receiving records. He finished with 117 receptions for 1,700 yards and 17 touchdowns. By the end of his college career, Kupp held the FCS records for career receptions (428), receiving yards (6,464), and receiving touchdowns (73). His 6,464 receiving yards were an all-division NCAA record.
Cooper Kupp's NFL Career
After his amazing college career, Cooper Kupp prepared for the NFL. He attended the 2017 Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine. Experts predicted he would be a high draft pick.
Joining the Los Angeles Rams (2017-2024)
The Los Angeles Rams selected Kupp in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. He was the 69th player chosen overall. He signed a four-year contract with the team.
Rookie Season Success (2017)
Kupp made his NFL debut with the Rams in 2017. He quickly showed his talent, catching an 18-yard touchdown pass in his first game. He became a key player for the Rams, especially in the red zone and on third downs.
He had his first game with over 100 receiving yards against the New Orleans Saints. Kupp finished his rookie season with 62 catches for 869 yards and five touchdowns. The Rams made the playoffs that year. Kupp caught a touchdown in his first playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons. He was also named to the 2017 PFWA All-Rookie Team.
Overcoming Injury (2018)
In 2018, Kupp started strong, catching nine passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings. However, he suffered a serious knee injury (an ACL tear) in Week 10. This injury ended his season early. He finished with 40 catches for 566 yards and six touchdowns in eight games. Without him, the Rams reached Super Bowl LIII but lost.
Strong Return and Record-Breaking (2019)
Kupp returned from his injury in 2019. He quickly showed he was back in top form. He had over 100 yards in four of his first seven games. In a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in London, he caught seven passes for 220 yards and a touchdown. This set an NFL record for most receiving yards in an international game.
He ended the 2019 season with 94 catches for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns. He led the Rams in all three categories. His 10 touchdowns tied for second-most in the NFL that year.
Continued Performance (2020)
Before the 2020 season, Kupp changed his jersey number to 10, his college number. He signed a new three-year contract with the Rams. He was placed on the COVID-19 list late in the season, missing one game.
Kupp played in the Wild Card playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. However, he suffered a knee injury that kept him out of the next playoff game. He finished the season with 92 catches for 974 yards and three touchdowns.
The Triple Crown and Super Bowl MVP Season (2021)
The 2021 season was historic for Cooper Kupp. With new quarterback Matthew Stafford, Kupp had an incredible year. He started strong with 25 catches for 367 yards and five touchdowns in the first three games. He consistently performed at a high level throughout the season.
Kupp set new Rams franchise records for receptions (145) and receiving yards (1,947) in a single season. He also had 16 touchdowns. He achieved the rare "receiving triple crown," leading the NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He was the first player to do this since 2005.
In the playoffs, Kupp continued his dominance. He had a crucial 44-yard catch in the Divisional Round that helped the Rams win. In the NFC Championship Game, he caught 11 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns. This led the Rams to Super Bowl LVI.
In Super Bowl LVI, Kupp scored his first Super Bowl touchdown. He made several key catches on the game-winning drive. His performance earned him the Super Bowl MVP award. He set a new NFL record with 33 receptions in a single postseason.
Injuries and Final Seasons with Rams (2022-2024)
On June 9, 2022, Kupp signed a new three-year contract with the Rams. He started the season strong, but in Week 10, he suffered a serious ankle injury that needed surgery. This ended his 2022 season early. He finished with 75 catches for 812 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.
In 2023, Kupp began the season on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. He returned in Week 5 and quickly made an impact. He had several games with over 100 receiving yards and touchdowns. He finished the season with 59 catches for 737 yards and five touchdowns. The Rams made the playoffs.
Kupp started the 2024 season with 14 catches for 110 yards. However, he suffered another ankle injury in Week 2. He returned later in the season, breaking franchise records for career receptions and receiving touchdowns. He finished his last season with the Rams with 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns. On March 12, 2025, the Rams released Kupp from the team.
Joining the Seattle Seahawks (2025-Present)
On March 14, 2025, Kupp signed a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He quickly became a starter for his new team. He played in 16 games, catching 47 passes for 593 yards and two touchdowns.
Kupp helped the Seahawks win the NFC West title in 2025. In the playoffs, he continued to perform well. He caught a 13-yard touchdown in the NFC Championship Game against his former team, the Los Angeles Rams. This touchdown helped the Seahawks win the game. Kupp then won his second Super Bowl championship when the Seahawks defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl LX. He had six catches for 61 yards in that game.

Cooper Kupp's Personal Life
Kupp comes from a family of football players. His father, Craig Kupp, was an NFL quarterback. His grandfather, Jake Kupp, was an offensive lineman for the New Orleans Saints and other teams. Jake was even inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame. Cooper's younger brother, Ketner, also played college football.
Cooper Kupp is known for his strong Christian faith.
He met his wife, Anna Croskrey, in high school. They married in June 2015 and have three sons. When Kupp played for Los Angeles, his family lived in Westlake Village, California. They spent their off-seasons in Wilsonville, Oregon.
Kupp has a fun pregame tradition. Before road games, he finds a Vietnamese restaurant to bring pho for his teammates. The quarterbacks then rank his pho choices!
